Battle of Pratapgad
The Battle of Pratapgad was a decisive engagement between the Maratha forces led by Shivaji Maharaj and the Bijapur army commanded by Afzal Khan. Afzal Khan invited Shivaji to a meeting with treacherous intent, but Shivaji, suspecting treachery, arrived armed and killed Afzal Khan. The Maratha army then attacked and routed the Bijapur forces.
